 CONNECTING TO YOUR LINUX ACCOUNT FROM HOME
  • You can use this method for using Linux from home (useful also to use freess):
  • Download putty (or any ssh client).
  • (NOTE: since January 2022 you need to do some additional steps:)
    1. Connect to the UNISI-VPN (instructions are here: https://www.uet.unisi.it/vpn/ - essentially you have to install the app and login into the UNISI-VPN by providing the UNIPASS credentials (login and password));
    2. Connect to x.dii.unisi.it (PORT 22) and use your and (UNISIPASS); (e.g.: ssh -p 222 -l <username> zamboni.dii.unisi.it (in putty: fill in the corresponding fields))
    3. To access your lesson-lab files: Connect to zamboni.dii.unisi.it (PORT 222) and use your and (UNISIPASS);
    4. To access your lab223 files: Connect to a specific machine (e.g., axm4) with just 'ssh '
